Quality Assurance Inspector - Day Shift

Overview - Quality Assurance InspectorAstec Industries is hiring for a Quality Assurance Inspector on the Day Shift at our Yankton, South Dakota location.
Inspect and document Company-manufactured products and purchased products to insure compliance with documented requirements.
Utilize Quality Management System tools (Statistical analysis, data processing, root cause analysis, precision measurement tools, etc.
) to identify and document quality issues and follow-up on corrective actions.
Utilize and follow Astec First Article Inspection process for applicable new parts to insure compliance with documented quality standards & specifications.
Work closely with cross functional teams on quality related issues, corrective actions, and establishing/documenting best practices.
Duties are performed under the supervision of the department manager and team lead.
Quality Assurance Inspector - Primary Duties and Responsibilities Quality of Manufactured Products:
Through personal inspection, utilization of job orders and blueprints and data analysis, ensure manufactured products meet the required specifications.
Work with Production and Engineering personnel to implement corrective actions on quality issues.
Quality of Purchased Products:
Through personal inspection, ensure purchased products meet required specifications.
Work with Purchasing Dept.
and suppliers to correct supplier quality issues.
Evaluation:
Through daily inspection results and data analysis, provide feedback to the Manufacturing and Engineering Departments for quality improvements.
Procedures:
On a continuing basis, update and review existing procedures and advise this position's supervisor of suggested procedural improvements.
Calibration:
Review and calibrate gauges, fixtures, welding machines, and measurement devices as required.
Quality Assurance Records:
Maintain Quality Assurance records, including data entry and filing of records.
Weld Testing:
Perform weld testing of Welder job applicants.
Through observation and random selection, assess and audit weld operators and weld equipment for proper settings and procedures.
Job requires using a computer to access and edit documents, communicate via E-mail, and enter/retrieve data from departmental software.
Complete work tasks as necessary to meet Company safety, productivity, and quality policies.
Continuously improve work-related skills, efficiency, and the quality of output.
Participate in cross-functional process/product improvement teams.
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment following the Company's 5S guidelines and Hazardous Waste Management programs.
Conserve Company resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish work tasks.
Use Company property with care and respect, help maintain it in good working condition, and retain it on Company premises.
Interact with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; comply with Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and uphold ASTEC Core Values.
Provide assistance and perform or assist in other duties as qualified and assigned by Department Manager.
Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and exam, and random drug and/or alcohol screenings throughout employment.
Ability to use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.
) and read/understand blueprints, preferred.
Computer experience required, particularly the ability to use computer software for documents and spreadsheets, email communication and business management software.
Perform work in an industrial environment with exposure to industrial noise, fumes, smoke, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
