Assist Electrical Project Engineer to troubleshoot mobile equipment electrically-related field problems and assist in the design and selection of electrical components and software program development for all product lines with emphasis on the mobile FT track mounted product line.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Compile information for troubleshooting field problems, resolve field problems directly with customers over the phone or at job sites, act as a liaison between Electrical Engineering and Service and occasionally travel on field trips involving overnight stay away from the office to resolve field problems.
2. Develop software programs and HMI (Human Machine Interface) for PLC control of electrical- or hydraulically-powered equipment.
3. Interface software controls with hydrostatic pump EDC (Electronic Displacement Control) and with ECM (Electronic Control Modules) for diesel engines.
4. Perform electrical drafting duties associated with electrical design components using
AutoCAD software.
5. Complete and update Bills of Material for electrical design.
6. Assist in dealing with questions/support for manufacturing process involving
troubleshooting electrical components and systems.
7. Assist Electrical Project Engineer as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
1. Two-year Associate's Degree in a related area from an accredited technical institute.
2. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, troubleshooting practices, and
procedures within the electrical programming field.
Essential Functions
1. Ability to operate necessary office equipment and tools to perform technician
functions which include AutoCAD systems.
2. Ability to work well with others and demonstrate good oral and written
communication skills.
3. Ability to travel by air and land.
4. Ability to perform duties in environments which include heavy industrial setting, quarry/pit locations, and construction sites with associated air pollutants and noise levels.
5. Ability to climb on equipment, etc. to inspect, troubleshoot or gather design
information.
