A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Machine Operator.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Component Welding Department Supervisor and in
cooperation with the Component Welding Department Leaders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Execute all duties necessary to operate and maintain the Press Brake, Punch Press, Drill Press, Shear, and
Band Saw with a minimum of direct supervision which include:
1. Layout or details layout on work stock from blueprints or sketch.
2. Set up and operate machine to bend, saw, or drill the steel to blueprint or other document specifications.
3. Position workpiece manually or with hoist into position for processing.
4. Inspect pieces for conformance with specifications.
5. Adjust and monitor machine for proper operation.
6. Job requires using a computer mouse to access and open/close computer documents.
All duties are performed in compliance with Company policies relating to safety and housekeeping.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for proper handling, arrangement, and storage of materials in assigned areas.
2. Maintain workstation in a clean and orderly manner.
3. Perform or assist in the performing of tasks throughout the plant as qualified and assigned.
Essential Qualifications
1. Perform work standing on concrete up to 12 hours per day.
2. Ability to work overtime as required up to 12 hours per day.
3. Must be able to work in various positions including squatting, bending and reaching.
4. Primary work assignment will require employees to be able to frequently push/pull/lift up to 45 pounds.
Employees may occasionally push/pull/lift greater than 45 pounds if they are physically able to safely do
it. Employees are encouraged to use caution at all times when pushing/pulling/lifting. Please consider
the size, shape, weight of the object to be pushed/pulled/lifted, the path and the distance you must travel
along with your own physical ability. If necessary, please seek assistance with pushing/pulling/lifting
tasks. Employees should never lift more than they are physically able to do.
5. Ability to run overhead hoists and forklift
6. Ability to work in heavy industrial environment with congestion and smoke.
7. Ability to follow verbal instruction and learn how to operate machine, training will be provided.
8. Ability to read a ruler and blue prints, and cut parts to print.
9. Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files.
